Thanks to its ductility and malleability, it can undergo significant plastic transformations. Its characteristics, particularly its high level of hardness, make copper a very good electricity and heat conductor. It also has a high level of resistance to corrosion.

This all means that this material is very frequently used in electrical systems and lines, water supply pipes, and communications equipment.
